Is privacy protection important to you?

If so, you may be happy to know that there are many privacy protection organizations that devote themselves entirely to the issue of privacy.

These groups vary in their area of specialization. Some are concerned with maintaining a citizen's privacy within our government. Some are more focused on consumer privacy while still others are taking up the challenge of privacy in the cyberworld.

Whatever their agenda, I'm grateful they exist. They are a major source for obtaining information on cutting edge privacy issues as well as a primary vehicle often keeping the population informed of the latest laws (or lack of) concerning our individual and societal privacy.

I've listed below several of the privacy groups that I use to keep tabs on the various privacy issues. I believe most are non-profits so I have a higher level of confidence that their information is less biased.

Check them out so you too can 'be-in-the-know' of current privacy issues that may affect you.

Privacy.org - The site for news, information and action.

Privacilla - "Privacy" as a public policy issue.

SpyChips - RFID Privacy Issues and News.

Electronic Privacy Information Center - Covers issues related to privacy and civil liberties in the information age.

Electronic Frontier Foundation - Defending Feedom in the Digital World.
